I really wanted to make an attempt to combine embroidery forces & here's a quick start!! I'm still figuring things out with the machine but this is take 1 of combining machine embroidery and hand embroidery!! Yay! I mostly used the machine for the shading and then worked the outlines by hand.. I've got a ways to go but love the messiness of the machine against the hard hand outlines... Onto the next one.. I cant wait to stock up on fabrics and thread so I can experiment even further...
I've been wanting to try my hand at some machine embroidery for awhile now, and my lil sis got me a free motion foot for my huskqvarna as a Christmas gift!!yay!! So, I spent a night trying to teach myself how this whole drawing with a sewing machine thing works! These are my attempts from that night. Oh boy, is it it tricky! I do think they got a little better as the night progressed.. The hardest thing I found was figuring out the right thread tension & speed. I can't wait to keep going at it. I wanna learn how to do satin outlines, make some layered lace, and mix machine and hand embroidery!! The possibilities seem endless::)) I just need some days off work;)
Yay! Check out this awesome feature from ToysRevil for TheMarkUltra's hand cast resin bootlegs! Then go get some!

I've stumbled upon some amazing embroidery artists via the wonderful world of instagram and I must say  Hey Paul Studios is definitely one of my favorites!!
So, I was so incredibly excited to get a little shout out from Miss Kristen Paulson of HeyPaul Studios herself!
Kristen was doing an anniversary blog post celebrating the anniversary of when she, so aptly put it,
"began stitching her heart out".  To celebrate she put out a call on instagram to showcase artists first attempts at embroidery side by side with some more recent works, and guess who got a mini feature:)
Yay,   I am super excited to get a little love from such a wonderful ladyxoxo

Well, we finally got our first booth under our belt this weekend at the East Passyunk Fall Fest.  It was a nice little local trial run for us! Thank you to everyone who came out and wished us well and to all those that spent a lil cash at our table as well! Can't wait for the next one.  I also thought there was no time to make it possible and was therefore very excited to finish all these carp pillows for saturday!yay!
